Project-Based Web Designer

Responsibilities

- Collaborate with our team to understand client requirements and project goals.
- Conduct user research and analysis to inform website design decisions.
- Create wireframes and prototypes to establish website layout, structure, and user flow.
- Design visually appealing, user-friendly websites using WordPress, Squarespace, Shopify, and other relevant platforms.
- Customize website templates, install branding elements, and ensure cohesive design across all pages.
- Optimize websites for responsive design, ensuring compatibility across various devices and screen sizes.
- Collaborate with developers to put in place design elements and perform basic coding tasks as needed.
- Perform quality assurance checks to ensure website functionality and resolve any design-related issues.
- Communicate project progress, challenges, and recommendations to the project manager.

Requirements

- Proven experience as a web designer
- A portfolio demonstrating expertise in WordPress, Squarespace, and Shopify.
- Skilled in UX research, wireframing, and prototyping tools/software.
- Understanding of HTML and CSS.
- The ability to make basic coding adjustments and troubleshoot design-related issues.
- Solid grasp of design principles, typography, colour theory, and layout.
- Experience with responsive design, ensuring websites adapt across different devices.
