The Law Offices of Omar Baloch (Baloch) are a US-based firm committed to providing quality and professional legal services, exclusively focusing on the area of Immigration and Nationality Law.

Baloch guides its clients through the process of obtaining permanent and temporary visas. This includes family based petitions, employment based petitions, and asylum based ---------- addition to preparing petitions, the firm also handles cases involving deportation and removal. The office also works with companies who are seeking to employ individuals who may require labor certifications and work visas.

Baloch is growing and has created the new position of remote Paralegal (Spanish speaking preferred). Baloch is looking for an autonomous “self-starter” that is able to work effectively with a remote team. This position will start out as part-time, approximately 20 hours per week, with the goal of moving to full-time in a few months time.

The Paralegal will be responsible for all general support to Omar Baloch and his associates, primarily with preparation and review of cases, legal documents, research, and immigration petitions.

This is a remote position and can be based anywhere! Hours of work are flexible, it is not required to work during daytime hours in US time zones, the work can be done at any time so long as deadlines are met.

Main responsibilities include:

Regularly corresponding with attorneys, clients, and other professionals to discuss assigned cases or projects;
Drafting legal documentation including legal briefs and affidavits;
Researching and analyzing statutes, regulations, legal articles, case law, and other legal sources;
Crafting written summaries and analyses of research to attorneys;
Organizing and maintaining legal files;
Preparing summary statements for clients and witnesses;
Assisting attorneys with trial preparation and immigration petitions
Prepping NVC Petitions, U Visa Adjustments, Family based immigration petitions, and form I-601A and I212 Waiver Petition
Performing all other related duties as assigned or requested.

Ability to analyze and synthesize complex information, and summarize in a digestible format.
Ability to maintain composure under pressure.
Ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgment.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, & EXPERIENCE:

Fluency in English (written, oral) and Spanish (oral) is required.
3+ years experience in a consulting, paralegal, law practice, or related experience in a legal setting required.
Previous experience or exposure to US Immigration Law is preferred.
Associates Law Degree (Juris Doctor). US Degree not ---------- monstrated proficiency with GSuite applications, in particular Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
