Chief Content Specialist (Finance Blog)

I am looking for an experienced PERSONAL FINANCE BLOG WRITER to create engaging, grammar-free SEO articles for a Canadian personal finance blog.

SUMMARY:
Content creation: upload, edit, and proofread content from other writers to the blog; add images; assist in content planning; optimize blog posts; write some blog articles.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- Write Search Engine Optimized (SEO), plagiarism free articles/blog posts as a subject-matter expert on assigned topics. (I will screen your article using a plagiarism software to prevent any copyright violation).
- Edit or rewrite existing content to meet marketing objectives.
- Source relevant royalty free visuals (e.g. image, tables, graphs, screenshots/charts, infographic, YouTube video, slideshow, etc.) to include to your article.
- Upload and optimize articles on website using a WordPress theme page builder (Gutenberg).
- Perform any other specific or ad-hoc duty to be assigned from time to time.

WHAT YOU MUST HAVE – COMPULSORY (Please do NOT apply if you do not meet the following requirements):
Job Requirements:
- A strong command of the English language and the ability to follow instructions. MUST have exceptional English writing skills (C2 level).
- 2+ years experience working with WordPress blogs, creating and writing content, PROOFREADING, EDITING, and publishing on the WordPress platform.
- Experience in optimizing content on self-hosted WordPress (i.e. ---------- ).
- Interest in long-term content writing work.
- Ability to paraphrase/summarize written content in professional English. You will be expected to complete a writing exercise if short-listed.
- Proven ability to use a variety of productivity software including Google Docs, Google Sheet, Task Management software (e.g. Trello, etc.), and other work-related tools.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Detail-oriented and a fast learner.
- Ability to use initiative and the originality of your work.
- Great work ethics to ensure that projects are completed on schedule.

NICE TO HAVE (Not Compulsory)
- Knowledge of blogging best practices, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), and/or copywriting.
- Experience with graphic design platforms and image editing tools like Canva, VistaCreate, etc. will be a major plus.
