VIDEO RESEARCHER

About the Role:
Wildcard Media is looking for a Freelance Video Researcher. This person must be an avid social media enthusiast and keen on spotting the latest online trends on all social media video platforms.
The ideal candidate must know what’s hot and what’s not in social media!

He or she will focus on finding, researching and acquiring top trending video contents on a wide range of topics from Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and TikTok and communicating directly with the video content creators. This could include anything from local to global trending stories or ---------- is important for the candidate to have strong research skills and an eye for detail. You should also be able to work independently and responsibly meet deadlines.
As a Video Researcher, we expect you to be up-to-date with the latest digital technologies and social media trends. You should have excellent research and communication skills and be able to express our company’s views creatively.
This is not a video editing position.

Expectation:
4 hours per day, 20 hours per week (flexible time)
Monday through Friday (flexible shift)
Compensation rate: $2.5/ hour USD (starting rate)

Responsibilities:
- Perform research on current benchmark trends and audience preferences
- Curate and research video content for Wildcard Media channel
- Coordinate with editorial and video production team to ensure timeliness on securing proper licenses and clearance for posting
- Proactively identify opportunities for further study and/or explore new areas of interest that has high potential to trend
- Maintain an organized and easily accessible database of all research projects, findings and recommendations, including sources and contributors
- Source copyright to ensure necessary rights are in place prior usage of Wildcard Media
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and news, as well as emerging technologies that could impact the media landscape

Qualifications:
- 2+ years of video research experience in media industry preferred
- Experience in Digital and Social Media Marketing
- Experience with Google docs, Excel, and Microsoft Word
- Superior organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and with a team to meet deadlines
