***REQUIREMENTS***

- Excellent English Skills
- Prior experience verifying patient eligibility from insurance companies like Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Health Care, Cigna, Medicare, and Medicaid.
- Knows the different types of insurance companies in the United States: Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, PPO, HMO, etc.
- Additional knowledge in billing preferred: claim submission, rejections, claim follow up, appeals, payment posting


***DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES***
- Verify insurance information for new patients and referrals
- Verify patient out-of-pocket costs
- Update insurance information for existing patients
- Call to verify if pre-authorization is needed for services and procedures
- Answer questions related to billing and insurance
- Maintains patient demographic information and data collection systems
- Verify CPT/ICD-10 codes to be billed
- Verifies completeness and accuracy of all claims prior to submission
- Complete timely follow up of rejections and claim denials
- Make necessary arrangements for medical records requests, completion of additional information requests, etc
- Regularly meet with Billing Manager to discuss and resolve reimbursement issues or billing obstacles
- Accurately post insurance and patient payments
