Accountant - Mortgage Compliance Reporting - VA

Maximos Lending is seeking a skilled and experienced Mortgage Accountant with the ability to secure nationwide approvals for our lending operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mortgage accounting, as well as the ability to navigate regulatory requirements to obtain nationwide approvals.

Responsibilities:

-Manage all aspects of mortgage accounting, including general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
-Monitor compliance with all applicable mortgage regulations, including TILA, RESPA, and HMDA.
-Prepare and submit mortgage applications for nationwide approvals, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
-Maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and other stakeholders to facilitate the approval process.
-Collaborate with other teams, including operations and legal, to ensure that all mortgage lending activities are compliant and efficient.
-Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings in mortgage accounting and approval processes.

Requirements:

-Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
-5+ years of experience in mortgage accounting and compliance.
-Proven track record of obtaining nationwide approvals for mortgage lending operations.
-Thorough knowledge of mortgage accounting principles and practices, as well as regulatory requirements related to mortgage lending.
-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
