Under supervision, incumbent works as data entry assistant responsible for entering large quantities of statistical research data for the VETSA aging study from multiple sources, such as questionnaires, data sheets. Verify the accuracy of the data, verify double-entry, keep records of completed work and maintain logs of data received, entered, edited, cleaned, verified and filed. Other routine clerical tasks as required including filing, copying, editing, etc.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions; formal training in typing; and six months of experience in the operation of key entry equipment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Able to read, write and communicate in English.
Proven skill in organizing, analyzing, managing time, setting priorities and meeting deadlines for multiple tasks.
Proven skill to be flexible and adapt to changes in priorities.
Demonstrated fast and accurate data entry and typing skills.
Experience using a computer.
Ability to sustain careful attention to detail for long periods of time.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a busy team environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Ability to design and maintain logs; develop reports and tables.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
Must be able to work overtime as needed.
