We are Hypernova Studios (www.hypernova.so), a boutique top-tier content studio that works with some of the best creators and influencers on various social platforms to help them tell beautifully crafted stories and information. The creators that we work with generate hundreds of thousands of subscribers that generate millions of views weekly and we’re very selective about who we choose to work with.

What we’re looking for...

As a senior video editor, we look for our tea ---------- mbers to have the following qualifications:

- **You must have deep prior experience working as a video editor** - you must have a minimum of 5 years of full-time work experience as a video editor. You must be a master in all aspects of video editing and you must also be a master of doing it all quickly and efficiently. Please do not apply if you don’t meet this criteria.

- **You must be a content research specialist** - We expect our editors to ramp up their knowledge quickly in the subject of the content that they are working on (in fact, all of our projects begin with a “content research phase 0”). We believe that this is the only way to develop top-tier content as an editor and we don’t believe in editors who don’t know anything about the subject of the videos they are editing. You must have the ability to research a topic deeply and become savvy in any topic that you’re tasked to work on.

- **Must be an asset research expert** - Our editors will be expected to scour the internet to be able to find the best video and image assets to put together videos (e.g., b-roll). You will be expected to be able to see a written script for a video and pull together the best b-roll assets to tell a compelling story through video. This isn’t the kind of role where you are always given all of the assets you will need to work with; you will also have to go out there to find your own and have a lot of creative freedom to do this.

- **Must be highly in tune with the latest video trends** - You must be up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in video editing. We’re not just looking for editors who know Mr. Beast or Alex Hormozi (though these popular styles are important too since they drive a lot of engagement). We’re looking for editors who understand more nuanced styles and has a pulse of what is up-and-coming too.

HOWEVER, we believe that having just strong technical video editing skills is not enough. To be successful at Hypernova Studios, you will also have to have the following abilities that are more related to working in highly successful teams:

- **You must be extremely detail oriented** - This is where most video editors don’t do well and why we end up rejecting most people from our hiring process. You must be incredibly detail oriented both in the videos that you create and also being able to read through instructions on how to edit videos or even in your communications with tea ---------- mbers.

- **You must be a strong communicator** - you must be a strong written and verbal communicator in English. This does not just mean that you must speak English well. You must be able to know when to raise issues to you manager when there are risks to the timeline, you must be able to communicate your progress effectively, you must be able to construct well structured emails, you must be available on our communication platforms to work with mean members.

- **You must be open-minded** - at Hypernova Studios, you will be constantly learning new things and be expected to continuously level-up your skills. Sometimes, you might get a project that is unrelated to what you have done in the past. Sometimes, you might get a project that doesn’t even feel like it’s video editing (e.g., researching trending videos on a platform and putting together documentation on it). You have to always be open minding to learning and trying new things (and then learning them quickly).

- **You must be able to work in a team environment** - you must be able to do things like attend daily tea ---------- etings, check your calendar for meetings, write documentation, follow processes, use project management tools.

- You don’t have 5 years of video editing experience.
- You have *only* worked as a solo freelancer in your professional career. We’re looking for someone who has worked in a team environment as part of a more structured team.
- You are a video editing agency. We’re not looking to contract with an agency, we’re looking for full-time hires.

Ideally, we’d love to see some work that you’ve done on videos that are 3-5 mins in length (ads that are a few seconds long are not as interesting to us).
