We are looking for an Accounting Specialist who will support and supervise the company's accounting processes in bookkeeping, financial reporting and tax compliance.
We want someone who is proactive in applying improvements and efficiencies within the company's accounting process. The ideal candidate must be highly motivated; give strong attention to detail as evidenced in typographical accuracy of schedules and reports; able to work with minimal supervision and have above average self-learning skills.
*The candidate will work closely with the Accounting Manager in keeping accounting records and documents updated and organized;
*Supervise Accounting staff handling Revenue-AR and Purchases-AP cycles.
*Ensure accurate and correct invoicing, including foreign currency transactions, timely collections, and proper posting of cash, wire-transfer fees, and forex gain/loss for Revenue-AR cycle;
*Ensure expenses are matched in the proper period, check the validity of expenses, accurate recording of VAT and creditable withholding taxes, scheduling of payments to suppliers for *Purchases-AP cycle;
*Manage the reconciliation of inter-company transactions and advances to/from officers and employees;
*Correct prior period transactions, investigation and resolution of errors;
*Compute, prepare and file VAT, Withholding and Income Tax returns;
QUALIFICATIONS:
*At least 2-3 years of working experience in general accounting in an experienced associate level;
*Experience in an accounting/auditing firm as Semi-senior or an Experienced Associate is an advantage;
*Accounting Degree
*Knowledgeable in all facets of general accounting - Revenue-AR cycle, Purchases-AP cycle, bank reconciliation, forex transactions, liquidations, intercompany and related-party transactions;
*Knowledgeable in preparing various tax returns - Withholding taxes, Payroll taxes, VAT, and Corporate Income Tax;
*Able to use and navigate through MYOB accounting software in accordance with the company's invoicing and vouching system is an advantage;
*Good communication and people skills in dealing with top management, customers, suppliers, and employees within the company;
*Interested in working in an accounting department of a company, willing to learn from and be exposed to challenging assignments, and can provide outstanding service and support to other departments;
*Applicants must be willing to work in Pasig City.
