News Writer

Our military website is looking for an experienced SEO/News writer to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of experience writing for published sites, be teachable, disciplined, and able to work well in a team. The candidate should also have excellent research skills, good sourcing and citation abilities, and be able to submit work on time.


Responsibilities:



- Write high-quality and engaging SEO-optimized content for our military website

- Stay up to date with current military news and trends and produce relevant content

- Conduct thorough research and fact-checking to ensure the accuracy and credibility of all content

- Source and cite all information used in content according to industry standard practices

- Collaborate with the editorial team to brainstorm and develop new content ideas

- Edit and revise content as necessary to ensure it meets editorial standards

- Meet all deadlines and submit work in a timely manner

- Continuously improve writing skills and stay up to date with SEO best practices

- Send in 23 stories every week (Mondays to Fridays)

Requirements:



- Minimum of 5 years of experience writing for published sites

- Strong research and fact-checking skills

- Excellent sourcing and citation abilities

- Familiarity with SEO best practices

- Ability to work well in a team environment

- Strong discipline and ability to meet deadlines

- Teachability and willingness to learn
