JOB OVERVIEW

The Role:
As a Senior Accountant in the Accounts Payable (A/P) department, you will play a critical role in managing and overseeing the accounts payable functions of the company. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of all A/P processes, as well as providing financial expertise and guidance to the accounting team.
The ideal candidate will be a Certified Accountant (CA or CPA) with extensive experience in A/P management and possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee the end-to-end accounts payable process, including invoice processing, vendor management, payment
processing, and reconciliation of accounts.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial transactions in accordance with IFRS and company policies.
• Review and analyse expense reports, purchase orders, and invoices for accuracy and compliance with company policies
and procedures.
• Develop and implement A/P policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the department.
• Manage vendor relationships and resolve any issues or discrepancies related to payments and invoices.
• Lead month-end and year-end closing activities related to A/P, including accruals and account reconciliations.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior members of the accounting team.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and finance, to streamline A/P processes and resolve issues.
• Prepare and analyse financial reports, forecasts, and reconciliations related to A/P.
• Stay updated with changes in accounting standards and regulations and ensure compliance.


Skills and Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent).
• Certified Accountant (CA or CPA) qualification is required.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in A/P, preferably in a senior or supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial accounting principles.
• Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office applications, particularly Excel (Intermediate/Advanced Excel
required).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Willing to work in is a fast paced and constantly changing environment.
• Strong English writing skills and concise communication.
• Ability to work from home in an unsupervised manner.
• A powerful recent PC that can crunch data.


Technology:

BioPak is extremely technology focused to ensure that anything that can be managed by systems are, with the aim that people can focus on areas that only people can do. You will need to be extremely comfortable in the use of technology.

We use cloud-based business process systems (NetSuite) and Google Apps to manage communication and file sharing.
