Backend Web Developer

We're on the hunt for a full-time Backend Developer that can help us with troubleshooting bugs and issues in and out of WordPress specifically with the BuddyBoss plugin.

If you're experienced in fixing plugin issues within WordPress and have a strong knowledge of the BuddyBoss and Memberpress plugins, we want to hear from you.

What you need to do:

Collaborating with our senior web developer to ensure website functionality and user experience
Promptly fix any bugs that impact member experience and/or website security
Troubleshooting and fixing any back end issues that may arise, particularly related to WordPress and BuddyBoss plugin
Liaising with the team and/or 3rd party apps to understand and troubleshoot any website technology issues
Recommending and implementing updates to website software and plugins as needed
Implementing new site features

What You Need to Succeed

At least 5+ years of experience as a backend developer
Experience working within BuddyBoss
Expert knowledge in PHP and object oriented programming
Good knowledge of Javascript/jQueryExperience with HTML5, CSS3 and responsive design
Advanced SQL knowledge creating, maintaining and improving performance
Experience with Git and other version control systems
Experience developing on BuddyBoss or BuddyPressExperience
Experience with Nginx Experience with Unit Testing with PHP
Strong software troubleshooting skills
Familiarity with other WordPress plugins and website functionality
Ability to write codes, spot errors, and edit codes within BuddyBoss or similar platform
Ability to troubleshoot and fix back end issues in a timely manner
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with our senior web developer
Excellent ability to manage tasks, stay organized, and meet deadlines
Availability for immediate consultation and emergency website situations
Strong and stable internet connection required

Assets

Mobile app development experience specifically ReactJS (preferred but not required)
Experience with membership sites
