Senior PHP Developer

We're looking for a part-time Senior PHP developer (20-50 hours / month). A small SaaS startup needs a developer to implement small enhancements and maintain the application. The platform runs on Symfony, with MySQL + MongoDB databases, a Redis cache, RabbitMQ messaging, Bootstrap 3 CSS, and Bower + Grunt for package management - all on AWS.

Your job is to maintain the current environment, implement small enhancements, create updates when external API's change - or update the platform's own API. You will also need to provide technical customer support on the API if customer's run into challenges using the API. Plus, on occasion you may need to contact an upstream provider if there are technical challenges with their API.

Most important: you need to have a pro-active attitude. If you don't understand something - you should try and solve a problem on your own first - and ask questions if you can't solve the problem. You need to learn the technology stack quickly. Also, you should be comfortable speaking to customers and suppliers, via email and occasionally via the phone as ---------- your application - explain to me why you meet these requirements.

Must-have:
- Senior (5+ years) experience in PHP development
- Highly experienced in MySQL + MongoDB
- Near-fluent in English
- Values quality code, security, maintainability & performance
- Pragmatic and pro-active attitude, self-starter

Nice-to-have:
- Experience with Symfony, Redis, RabbitMQ, Bootstrap, Bower and Grunt is much appreciated!
