JOB OVERVIEW

To support the growth of our web development team in the Philippines we are seeking a WordPress developer who can competently handle the following tasks:

Essential:

Wordpress Maintenance Skills:-
- Install and maintain wordpress themes and plugins
- administer roles, permissions and access for wordpress websites
- patch the wordpress core safely, using staging environment to test for issues first
- configure caching, and performance to optimise wordpress sites running on NGINX and Apache servers
- Manage backups and migrate wordpress sites safely between hosts

Wordpress Development Skills:-
- Able to source a pre-built theme and install it onto a blank wordpress environment
- Ability to customise a pre-built theme using dashboard components
- Comfortable developing pages using graphical builders, Elementor, WP Bakery, DIVI
- Able to work with Gutenberg blocks
- Able to make simple custom CSS updates to tune pre-built theme styles when needed

Design Skills:
- Understanding of image formats
- Good Eye for colours and suitable fonts
- Able to source images and restyle themes to match a target brand

Would be nice to have (but in no way essential for the role)

- Understanding of Vanilla HTML
- Understanding of Vanilla CSS
- Broad understanding of Javascript
- Broad understanding of custom PHP development

This role will involve creating and maintaining a variety of wordpress sites that will generally be developed using pre-built themes sourced from Envato supporting a graphical page builder. Ability to work with wordpress, page builders and an eye for design is more important here than the ability to develop custom web pages. Good communication in English is also important as key stakeholders are native English speaking.

Hours of work are 9 - 6 pm PH standard working hours. The position is fulltime and includes 15 days annual leave. All national Philippines local holidays are also considered paid holidays.
