Wound Care Medical Coder

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Wound Care Medical Coder to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in wound care coding and be proficient in the use of Q codes. As a Wound Care Medical Coder, you will be responsible for reviewing medical records and assigning appropriate codes to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement.

Key Responsibilities:

- Review medical records to identify wound care diagnoses and procedures
- Assign appropriate ICD-10 and CPT codes based on documentation and coding guidelines
- Proficient in the use of Q codes for wound care products and supplies
- Verify and ensure accuracy of codes assigned and make any necessary corrections
- Communicate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation as needed
- Stay up-to-date with coding guidelines and changes in healthcare regulations

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required
Certification as a Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) required
Minimum of 2 years of experience in wound care coding required
Proficient in the use of Q codes for wound care products and supplies
Strong understanding of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with healthcare providers
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
