JOB OVERVIEW

As part of the matchmove (aka tracking) team, your primary focus will be to recreate the sets, objects and camera motion of a shot in a 3D software environment to match the live-action background plate ---------- this role, you will spend your days:
- Creating sets, proxy props and other models based on supplied set data and/or other available survey information
Include proof of scale in virtual layout setup
- Set up virtual camera from data sheets and track camera motion
- Matchmove objects/characters to match the action in the live action plates
- Render track / matchmove over supplied plates for approval
- Undistort/re-distort plates
- The Matchmove Supervisor is the head of the matchmove department and is responsible for identifying the tools, pipeline, workflows and the execution of work and quality control of all matchmove assets. The Matchmove Supervisor works in conjunction with the clients and Project Producer to ensure that the team’s output satisfies the client’s requirements and is delivered on time and on ---------- will be important to step in to handle problem shots when needed. This is a senior and important role; it requires an in-depth knowledge of industry-standard matchmove software and a thorough understanding of film cameras, lens and onset data, as well as management of the matchmove crew.

We are seeking a Roto and Paint Supervisor to join our team. The Roto and Paint Supervisor will oversee the roto and paint team and ensure all work is completed to the highest standard possible. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in roto and painting, supervising a team, liaising directly with clients, effective communication, and organizational skills. You will be responsible for establishing quality control, feedback, and data exchange protocols. As Roto and Paint Supervisor, you will be working closely with our Supervisors and Production on the bidding, briefing, and execution of roto and paint tasks across a variety of projects.

Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, define and document the department’s tools, pipeline, and workflows. Ensure the pipeline and teams are optimized and ready to hit the ground running when projects land.
- Supervise the matchmove team and ensure that all work is completed at the highest standard possible and within the given timeframe and budget
- Responsible for quality control of all matchmove assets and will thoroughly examine the quality of the motion solve in the generated test renders to ensure the client deliverables are of the highest quality and meets the needs of the clients.
- Collaborate with other departments and clients to ensure the work is integrated seamlessly into the VFX pipeline and meets the creative vision and technical specs of the project.
- Collaborate with the Producer to manage the schedule and task assignments to ensure that all deadlines are met
- Provide guidance and mentorship to the team, helping them to develop their skills and improve their work
- Lead the AM and PM tea ---------- etings including mid-day check-ins
- Stay in sync with the Producer to ensure project updates and communications are accurate, and all client specifications are met to ensure client satisfaction.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest techniques and technologies, and implement them where appropriate.
- Engage in the performance management process such as performance reviews, daily feedback, and mentoring.
- Collaborate with the Producer to create bids and handle client calls for new projects.
- Utilize effective communication skills to receive client notes and deliver instructions/feedback to artists.
- Build strong relationships with clients
- Participate in interviewing potential hires

Requirements:
- At least 3-5 years of experience in Visual Effects. Preferably as a Matchmove Lead or Supervisor.
- Strong passion for building an international company to represent the Philippines on the international stage from a start-up phase.
- In-depth understanding of the VFX process and the ability to understand technical and creative briefs. A strong understanding of camera tracking, object tracking, rotomation, and compositing.
- Fluent in English
- Experience in Supervising or Leading a team of matchmove artists
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Meticulous nature with a self-critical eye, and high standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to find creative solutions to complex matchmove challenges
- Expert proficiency in industry-standard compositing softwares, such as After Effects, Nuke, Blender, Syntheyes and/or 3de, and/or Blender
- Expert knowledge in focal lengths, film backs, lens distortions, rolling shutter etc.
- A strong portfolio of Compositing work (preferably roto and paint work), demonstrating a high level of technical skill and attention to detail
- Ability and knowledge to build a solid QC process and techniques to catch roto and paint errors early in the VFX process
- Knowledge in Rigging a plus
- Strong Knowledge of Photogrammetry
- Strong Knowledge of Maya
- Soft tracking a plus (vertice animation with no rig)
- The ability to script in MEL and Python is a plus
- Calm and confident when interacting with clients
- Strong problem-solving and identifying solutions without guidance.
- Ability to give accurate time estimates

Technical Requirements:
- Ability to model environments with or without lidars, measurements, and camera information. UV objects when necessary
- Expert Camera/Object matchmove. Ability to hand-key cameras/objects in Maya.
- Ability to take over shots that an artist is unable to complete
- Ability to Rotoanim a 3D character rig to match actors ---------- cluding facial animation.
- Strong layout skills, including camera track overs

Software Requirement:
- Maya or Blender
- Syntheyes
- Nuke and After Effects
- Ftrack (or other project tracking software)

Preference:
- Experience working at a VFX/Animation company abroad.
- Previous experience as Supervisor
- Previous experience working directly with a client
- Scripting experience
