JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Roto and Paint Supervisor to join our team. The Roto and Paint Supervisor will oversee the roto and paint team and ensure all work is completed to the highest standard possible. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in roto and painting, supervising a team, liaising directly with clients, effective communication, and organizational skills. You will be responsible for establishing quality control, feedback, and data exchange protocols. As Roto and Paint Supervisor, you will be working closely with our Supervisors and Production on the bidding, briefing, and execution of roto and paint tasks across a variety of projects.

Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the roto and paint team and ensure that all work is completed at the highest standard possible and within the given timeframe and budget
- Collaborate with other departments and clients to ensure that roto and paint work is integrated seamlessly into the VFX pipeline
- Provide guidance and mentorship to the roto and paint team, helping them to develop their skills and improve their work
- Work closely with the VFX Supervisor to ensure that all roto and paint work meets the creative vision and technical specs of the project
- Collaborate with the Producer to manage the roto and paint schedule and task assignments to ensure that all deadlines are met
- Lead the AM and PM tea ---------- etings including mid-day check-ins
- Stay in sync with the Producer to ensure project updates and communications are accurate, and all client specifications are met to ensure client satisfaction.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest roto and paint techniques and technologies, and implement them where appropriate.
- Collaborate with the Producer to create bids and handle client calls for new projects.
- Utilize effective communication skills to receive client notes and deliver instructions/feedback to artists.
- Build strong relationships with clients
- Participate in interviewing potential hires

Requirements:
- At least 3-5 years of experience in Visual Effects. Preferably as a Compositing Lead or Supervisor.
- Strong passion for building an international company to represent the Philippines on the international stage from a start-up phase.
- In-depth understanding of the VFX process and the ability to understand technical and creative briefs. A strong understanding of rotoscoping, painting, and compositing
- Meticulous nature with a self-critical eye, and high standards.
- Fluent in English
- Experience in Supervising or Leading a team of roto and paint artists
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to find creative solutions to complex roto and paint challenges
- Proficiency in industry-standard roto and paint software, such as After Effects, Nuke, Blender, Silhouette, or Mocha
- A strong portfolio of Compositing work (preferably roto and paint work), demonstrating a high level of technical skill and attention to detail
- Ability and knowledge to build a solid QC process and techniques to catch roto and paint errors early in the VFX process
- The ability to script in MEL and Python is a plus
- Ability to give accurate time estimates

Preference:
- Experience working at a VFX/Animation company abroad (or experience working directly with an international client)
- Previous experience as Supervisor
- Previous experience working directly with a client
