Accountant in Property Management/Real Estate Industry

This is an opportunity for you to join our team as an Accountant / Bookkeeper / Controller in the Real Estate/Construction ---------- this position you will be working closely with our team to oversee the finance and accounting operations of the entire company. Potential candidates must have a strong accounting background and/or accounting education. While this is a Junior position to start, there is no ceiling on career advancement opportunity for those that demonstrate the ability and knowledge for higher positions (Sr. Accountant, Controller, CFO, etc)

Responsibilities:
• Generate monthly and quarterly financial reports as required
• Billing, work order management, processing, etc
• Produce financial statements, detailed variance analysis, and general ledger account reconciliation for individual entities
• Bank reconciliations and journal entries
• Responsible for general ledger accuracy, accounts payable, payroll, and cash management
• Prepare journal entries with supporting documents for all the entities
• Assist with budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis
• Maintain and track invoices ensuring approvals and match to PO system
• Reconcile year-end payroll tax reports and review/issue W2’s and 1099s
• Assist in the creation and enforcement of internal controls
• Assist with accounting system enhancements
• Assist in the creation and maintenance of process documentations
Required Skills:
• Conscientious about timeliness of assignments and quality of work product
• Organize and prioritize tasks and work with minimal direction
• Good GAAP and financial reporting technical skills
• Exceptional work ethic and goal oriented
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel
• Experience identifying accounting systems and knowledge of AppFolio is a plus
• Preference for candidates with some real estate experience
