JOB OVERVIEW

We are a company with over 35 years history in Papua New Guinea. We started very small in 1986 but are now diversified into fuel, transport services and property. We have a team of about 70 employees. We are well-known with a good reputation in our region.

As our payroll and accounts assistant you will be working mainly on preparing fortnightly employee pays and accounts payable. You will work closely with the company director to gradually relieve her of these duties. We see the position as full time, so your tasks will expand as we train you and your competency grows.

Key responsibilities will include:
• Regular checking of employee time records (using our time software)
• Update employee records in our payroll software
• Process pays
• Communicate with staff and suppliers, via Whatsapp and email
• Accounts payable tasks – invoice entry, payments, reconciliation

The most important requirement for this position is to have fluent English, written and ---------- is also important that you be a fast learner and pay close attention to detail.

You should have good experience with MS Excel and Word, this is a must. You need good internet connection. The following are also helpful, but to have all is not essential:

• Experience with accounting and payroll software
• Accounting or bookkeeping experience
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, commerce or related field

This position would suit someone with experience but also someone with little experience that can be easily trained. We are looking for someone who can grow with us.
