We are looking for a super star developer with a passion for great products. Shiny Button is an up and coming eCommerce consultancy and has a requirement to bring on a full time developer to help evolve core platform. In particular you will take on the challenges of building a solid data sync platform based on industry standards like EDI. Your role will be to take on further development of our process automation platform, help build a research facility and lead future development with partners.
We use the SCRUM methodology to run the development of the platform. You will be take on the responsibility of accepting and delivering weekly sprints. You will need to bring to the role strong organizational skills and to work both in a team and autonomously to deliver. You will set your own sprints with the help of the product manager and scrum master. You will then use your exceptional coding and attention to detail to deliver the sprints.
Exposure to Scrum is essential however if you are a top notch developer with a history of delivering your own outcomes, you will find it easy to pick up on the methodology of Scrum.
To be successful you will:
- Have Strong PHP/HTML/CSS skills
- Demonstrate strong experience with PHP Class development
- Experience with source control and use of GIT
- Have a strong understanding of database development
- Can take a user story and turn it into functional code
- Experience with Scrum
- Be a self starter
- Happy to work in agile business in the early stages of start up. Yes there will be lots of pivoting as we work things out
- Communicate clearly with customers and staff alike
- Preferably have previous exposure to a start up and understand the challenges it can bring
Being a self starter and being able to manage yourself is a must. One of the core values we hold at Shiny Button is for self management of individuals and teams. We don't believe in blocking progress with levels of management rather giving the responsibility of progress to the individuals and the teams.

The role will start out on a 2 month trial period, during which you will be paid a salary every two weeks. On completion of the trial period, you will be given an opportunity to show us your progress. Along with the satisfaction of doing great work you will then be given an intermediate pay rise. After 6 months, its then open to negotiate.
