RoR Developer to work in Singapore

Job Description:

As a Ruby on Rails programmer you have an unbridled passion for Ruby but are

deeply in love with Rails. You know PHP is a relic of the past and Java is not built

for maintaining a killer web backend chock full of API’s to serve the internal

front end beast - the myriad of desktop, mobile and the connected TV clients

Responsibilities:

? Manage the back end which powers the web, mobile and

connected TV APIs.

? Fix any known backend issues as timely as possible.

? Work with other internal and third-party vendors to evolve our APIs to

meet the needs of the product roadmap.

? Perform R&D to optimize servers and network.

? Create and design architecture that maximizes system availability and

performance through fault-tolerant configuration, efficient network

architecture, and proactive server monitoring.

Requirements:

? Basic knowledge of Git

? Basic knowledge of UNIX Environment

? Basic knowledge of CSS and Javascript

? Experience with Ruby on Rails

? Experience with SQL

? Experience with payment solutions

? Experience using and writing REST APIs

? DB and Code optimization strategies

Nice to Have:

? Experience with Key value stores like Redis or Dynamo from AWS

? Experience with Backbone.js or Ember.js

? Experience with NoSQL Database

General Qualifications Desired

? General industry experience either as an employee or intern

? Excellent written and verbal communication skills

? Ability to work unsupervised

? Desire to have fun while working hard to dent the universe

? Experience in the media or online video industry a big plus
