Assistant Apparel Designer

Job description
We are looking for a talented Assistant Apparel Designer. The Assistant Designer's role is to support the Design Team by helping with graphics, creating tech packs, as well as creating flat sketches.

Responsibilities

Create and revise original flat sketches based on existing trends and mainstream designs

Ability to create tech packs with detailed specifications that include garment measurements, construction details, trim/fabric information, and maintain technical spec sheets

Analyze, measure and evaluate product samples and provide clear sample comments with regard to technical details, quality, construction, and fit

Create and maintain catalogs

Track development samples to ensure samples are received on time

Accurately color pitch/match graphics and textiles

Assist in sketches of new product

Assist in developing patterns for production

Assist in researching and choosing the most sustainable fabric options

Accurately size graphics and textiles according to designs

Organize and maintain fabric, trim, and sample libraries for easy access and reference

Requirements:

2-4 yrs Experience in the apparel and fashion industry

Proficient in Adobe Suite, and Microsoft Office software

Excellent color-matching skills

Understanding of scaling artwork

Knowledge of the product creation process

Knowledge of factory processes, equipment, and techniques

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to work independently on projects and set and see through daily / weekly / seasonal tasks and projects

Strong sense of aesthetic

Ability to meet deadlines
