Schedule and coordinate all eye surgeries for busy ophthalmology office.
Responsibilities include:
*Complete all pre-authorizations for each case with the appropriate insurance company.
*Verify patient out-of-network costs, deductibles, payments, payment plans.
*Provide proper hospital codes and letters of necessity.
*Send treatment plans.
*Follow up on pre-authorizations as needed and ensure authorizations are complete and approved in advance of surgery date.
*Follow up with patients notifications, resubmissions, etc., as needed
*Contact surgery centers to schedule blocks of time for practice.
*Manage patients who have been referred for surgery by coordinating all necessary paperwork, insurance pre-authorizations and consents.
*Confirming booked surgeries with patients and surgery centers.
*Manage cancellations and schedule changes
*Manage patient charts
Requirements:
***MUST BE ABLE TO WORK OVERNIGHT SHIFT: MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY 8:30 am EST - to 5:00 pm EST
***Must have high speed internet connection, back up, computer with I5 processor and quality headset
***Must have dedicated office space free from background noise and distractions.
*1-3 years of surgical scheduling experience with U.S. medical practice preferred. Experience with Ophthalmology a plus!
*1-3 years of practice management software experience.
*1-3 years of healthcare insurance experience
*Excellent verbal and written English skills.
*High proficiency in MS Office
