Squarespace Web Designer (Part Time)

Web Design Company based in the USA is looking for a skilled and experienced specialist Squarespace website designer to create beautiful, unique, easy-to-navigate, fast loading and clean websites primarily for small businesses. This is a part-time position of 20 hours per week to start, with the potential to move to full-time.

The ideal candidate must have a decent portfolio of at least 6 previous Squarespace websites they have designed and work on (if you don't have this level of Squarespace experience, please don't apply yet as it will be one of the first things we will look for). Having a good eye for detail and solid design principles is important in order to create site designs that resonate with the website's target market. A graphic design background/skills are definitely a plus but not critical.

Responsibilities:
-Create mockups of the Home and 1 regular page so we can get the OK from the client for the overall look & feel which resonates with the website's target market.
-Design and create an approximately 8-12-page Squarespace website using version 7.1 that meets the needs of the small business client.
-Ensure the website is visually appealing plus incorporate user-friendly navigation on both desktop and mobile devices.
-Implement custom CSS as needed for design tweaks and functionality.
-Add the provided page content for each individual page together with setting up any contact forms, and call-to-action buttons.
-Test the site on all browsers for both desktop and mobile responsiveness.
-Some setting up of Google Analytics accounts as well as Google Search Console and Microsoft Bing Webmaster Tools (training is available if not familiar with these).

Requirements:
-Proven experience designing and developing at least 6 prior websites on Squarespace.
-Having experience with Squarespace's latest version 7.1.
-Good eye for design skills and attention to detail.
-Strong understanding of web design principles and user experience.
-Ability to implement some custom CSS tweaks and possibly integrations with third-party tools.
-Good communication and collaboration skills.
-Additional strong graphic design skills are a plus.
-Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.

Additionally, we do salary reviews twice a year and the 13th check (pro-rata) at the end of the year.
