JOB OVERVIEW

I'm the hiring manager for a gaming studio based in US/EU

- Has experience working in Unreal Engine 5 with available portfolio/references
- Has a strong aesthetic sense and passion for game design
- Is detail oriented, resourceful, capable of self management and meeting independent deadlines
- Can inform design decisions throughout the development process, bringing design capabilities to game mechanic iterations
- Can actively contribute to the planning and production pipeline
- Ability to collaborate creatively and take direction from lead game designer and producer
- Designing intuitive and engaging interfaces for our online games
- Collaborating with game developers to create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes
- Developing design solutions for both desktop and mobile platforms
- Conducting user research and usability testing to ensure the best possible user experience
- Staying up-to-date with current design trends and techniques
- Creating design assets, including icons, buttons, and other UI elements
- Collaborating with other designers and cross-functional teams to ensure consistency in visual design across all games
- Taking ownership of design projects from conception to final production

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prototype single level of new game development project
- Full level build out for playable prototype, including map, character control, dialogue and VO systems, and core mechanics
- Participate in playtesting events with advisors/collaborators and help implement internal and external feedback
- Regularly review work with stakeholders; discuss and incorporate feedback into the design/build process
- Incorporate 3D art assets into prototype where applicable
- Produce final design documentation from prototype build
REQUIREMENTS
- Experience in Unreal Engine 5 and C++
- At least 3 years of experience as a UI/UX designer in the gaming industry
- Strong understanding of game development processes and workflows
- Experience creating wireframes, mockups, and prototypes
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma or similar design software
- Experience with Unreal Engine or other game engines
- Strong portfolio demonstrating a range of UI/UX design skills and styles
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor's degree in graphic design, interaction design, or a related field
