Looking for a smart, communicative, early/mid-level programmer for a successful open source web application.
Work with two software engineers with 25 years of experience each; learn a ton about navigating existing code bases, developing empathy for customer use cases and problems, and finding the right solution for customers and the business.
Most of the work will consist of resolving open issues on our product. Many will be customer reported, some will be reported by our team. We'll work with you to come to the right approach to solve the problem, then you'll work on your own to implement the solution. We're available for questions and discussing unexpected complications (these always happen!). You'll write a test case to cover each fix and create a PR which will be both automatically tested and manually QA'd to make sure it resolves the customer's problem. We'll review the PR and suggest ways to improve your approach so you get better each time.
