Job Brief
The Mechanical inspector is responsible for ensuring the mechanical requirements in the construction projects meet all relevant building codes and standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Reads and interprets materials, such as work orders, inspection manuals, and blueprints, to determine inspection and test procedures.
• Analyzes and interprets sample data.
• Undertake inspections on site in accordance with the discipline related inspections and test plans (ITP's)
• Attend to Inspection Requests (IR's) submitted by the contractor and take appropriate action in a timely manner
• Monitor the contractor’s (ITP's) and quality plan(s) in regards to discipline related works
• Inspect materials delivered and report on quantity and technical compliance
• Confers with vendors and others regarding inspection results, recommends corrective procedures, and compiles reports of results, recommendations, and needed repairs.
• Tests and measures finished products, components, or assemblies for functioning, operation, accuracy, or assembly to verify adherence to functional specifications.
Qualification Requirement
• BS Mechanical Engineering graduate with license;
• Minimum 7 years related experience on major building projects;
• Technical skills in understanding and interpreting complex engineering and construction documents;
• Strong communications skills to convey message effectively and efficiently;
• Strong problem solving skills; attention to details, ability to work independently.
• Working knowledge of National Board Inspection Code
