A US based company is looking for an experienced web developer to help manage existing web systems and develop new automation tools. This is a full time, remote telecommuter position with an established company. Must be able to take direction from managers, meet deadlines and communicate with other developers and customer service representatives.
Responsibilities include:
* Programming new and existing tools and websites (80% of the time)
o Automated site development system
o Installing new sites and extensions ( also develop - / customize extensions )
o Develop back-end operational scripts to help automate redundant tasks.
o Maintain and update existing scripts when needed.
o Server administration (cPanel)
* Customer service and support (20% of the time)
o Troubleshoot, resolve technical issues with PHP scripts and websites as needed
o Respond to escalated customer service inquiries from customer support reps via ticket system
Requirements:
* Graduate in Computer Science or relevant IT-related course from major college or university
* Minimum 3 years of work experience
* Strong PHP/ MySQL/HTML/CSS skills
* Joomla and WordPress development experience
* Must be available via Skype and email on a regular schedule
* Must be fluent in English (writing and speaking)
* Basic skills with Apache, cPanel and Unix web servers a plus
The candidate should be experienced, reliable, able to set and keep deadlines, and to work independently on projects from start to finish. The best candidates will be contacted for an online interview and will be asked for references.
We are looking for full time commitment ( 40 hour week ), and if our collaboration works out well, we are looking for a long-term commitment.
We would like to do a 1 month trial-period first, if that works out well we would like to hire you full time.
