JOB OVERVIEW

Duties and Responsibilities

Product

• Sells beverage items, as well as coffee grinding and brewing equipment by explaining differences in coffee beans and coffee preparation machines; demonstrating how brewing equipment operates
• Prepares and sells beverages by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques; maintains the highest quality, consistent product standards
• Develops an understanding of coffee and the various differences in flavor and blends that different roasting and brewing methods produce
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading coffee, retail trade, and food service publications
• Generates revenues by attracting new customers and defining new and expanded services and products, as well as upselling other items available in the store

Service

• Greets all customers with fast, friendly, personalized service and develops a rapport by determining their food and beverage interests and needs
• Ensures that all customers are educated on all products and services
• Verbally receives and calls back customer orders in a friendly manner
• Reports all customer complaints to manager
• Responds proactively to prevent customer service situations
• Accurately rings sales orders into cash register and counts back change to customers in a courteous and friendly manner
• Answers telephone in a courteous and friendly manner including, but not limited to, giving store greeting, directions to store location, and receiving and filling customer orders

Environment

• Restocks shelves when necessary/maintains inventories by replenishing bar and packaging supply; Prepares weekly list of items in low stock for proper delivery; Assists in the distribution of weekly shipments
• Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs
• Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations.
• Improves quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; implementing changes; maintaining and improving the appearance of the store and coffee bar.
• Reports potential safety hazards, employee accidents and any operational inconsistencies to the manager.

Requirements, Qualifications & Physical Demands:

• Provides assistance in special events, as needed
• Champion in promoting positive morale and professional attitude
• Amenable to work on flexible operational schedule, extended hours as needed
• Excellent verbal and written skills
• Well-organized and detail-oriented
