Senior Bookkeeper - EXPRESSION OF INTEREST 2023 ROLE

Job Summary:
The Senior Bookkeeper is responsible for undertaking all production bookkeeping activities, including bank reconciliations, supplier invoice processing, payroll processing, sales invoicing, account reconciliations and understands the flow of accounting transactions up to the financial statement level. The ideal candidate has in-depth knowledge of Australian taxation, bookkeeping, and admin procedures and will be an asset to the Accounting team.

• Candidate must possess at least Bachelor's/College Degree in Finance/Accountancy/Banking or equivalent.
• Required language(s): English
• Good computer skills
• Excellent communication skills and confidence to communicate with clients
• Reports to Practice Principal
• Preferably 3 Yrs & Up Experienced Employee specialized in bookkeeping.
• At least 2+ years Australian experience is required.
• Start date: March 2023

Technical Requirements
• Can do payroll data entry processing and able to reconcile with relevant records
• Process superannuation obligations and do relevant reconciliations
• Can prepare sales invoices in the client's accounting system
• Enter supplier's tax invoices in the client's accounting system
• Process payments of A/P and collections of A/R
• Perform AR and AP account reconciliations
• Perform bank reconciliation
• Can resolve the recurring reconciling items showing in the reconciliation reports like Bank Reconciliation, Trade Payables/Receivables
• Have a basic understanding of the ATO portal reports
• Can liaise with external accountants
• Can draft activity statements (BAS/IAS) for review
• Can liaise directly with the Firm's clients when required
• Working with other Bookkeepers in the team (train and support)
• Experience with Xero Accounting and Hubdoc
• Xero Certified if possible.
• Use of the following software: MYOB Accounting, Xero Accounting (99% of Clients are on Xero), Xero Practice Manager, Microsoft Products

Detailed Technical Knowledge Requirements
• Accounting for new assets purchased under finance agreement
• Single-Touch-Payroll

You WILL initially start on a freelance basis of up to 10 hours per week but the role may become full time for the right candidate.
