Content Writer - Fulltime/Some Evening Hours

SOFX, Inc, the parent company of the SOFX family of companies is currently seeking a Content Writer to provide writing support to the SOFX Media Team.

The Content Writer will be responsible for writing article content and summarizations reflecting the SOFX ideals and policies and providing accurate reporting of all assigned subject matter. The Content Writer will collaborate and report to the Media Team Leader in accordance with the SOFX editorial policies.

The Role
The Content Writer will read, comprehend, research and write or summarize articles (up to 100 words) on topics including the Military, United States Government, Special Operations Forces, International Relations, United States Defense Department, Cyber Security, and Emerging Technology. This position requires daily, time sensitive work to be completed on a late evening schedule.

The Requirements
• Must have experience in content writing or copywriting and submit a professional portfolio
• Candidate must have strong time-management skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines
• Ability to work an evening schedule/early night hours five days a week with increased workload near the end of the week; mandatory hours for time-sensitive work will be Monday - Friday from apx. 9 am - 12 pm EST; you have flexibility to make your own schedule for remaining non-time-sensitive assignments
• Bachelor's Degree in Communications, English or a related field preferred
• Ghost writing experience a plus
• Must have advanced proficiency in English (specifically writing but also speaking); this includes proficiency in spelling, grammar, punctuation, and proofreading
• Understanding of relevant or applicable U.S. copyright laws including paraphrasing and expression of ideas
• Has a sense of urgency in both tasks and communication; takes initiative, anticipates needs, and gets things done consistently on time
• Desire to exceed expectations, and reflect positively on the brand
