We have a bank of in excess of 500 clients where we need to report information to an external website. The methodology for this information is by set questions held on a user name and password protected website. There is no inbuilt automation within the website, nor is there expected to be in the foreseeable future. The information is compiled by a series of fill in the blanks and click continue, although the vast majority of the information will not change from year to year.
What is needed is:
- Design of questionnaire template to match the web based questions, which range from yes no questions to more "free text" type answers and are a mixture of words and financial information;
- ability to scrap the information from the secure web site (to capture the "existing" information" and populate in the questionnaire;
- This information would be passed to another party to validate any changes which may have occurred since the last update, so the questionnaire would also need to be in a format which would allow changes to the information to be made.
- Once the information is received back and confirmed as correct, this information would need to be updated in the secure website.
In summary:
- design of form
- allow information to be scraped from external password protected website;
- changes made to data on form to reflect the next years information
- form contents able to be written back to secure website
Further more in depth details can be provided if expression of interest.
Ideal solution
Creation of a web-based client-server application with a database on the back end to retain the state of the document as it transitions from original content to “edited” to “approved” to “submitted”.
This will allow control and management of the workflow.
1. A web-based tool that allows "user A" to enter the customer identification and initiate the scrape process of the source web site and push the scraped data into the document database.
2. Creation of a database that holds the data records in two tables (original state and edited state), and retains the state of the document. This database will be deployed on a web server located at a hosting provider.
3. Deployment of the web application onto the web hosting platform
4. Creation of a web-based interface that allows a "user B" to edit the information and save it in the database in an "edited" state.
5. Creation of a web-based interface that allows user A (or C) to review the edited document and approve it for submission.
6. Creation of a web based application that submits the approved content back to the source website.
We would need access the content for the user in a web browser and print off the form or save it as a pdf document of other format.
Diagram showing solution architecture at a high level can be provided.
This would be a one off programming project for a one time fee.
