Tax Manager

Join a leading boutique accounting firm in Sydney, Australia for in this exciting opportunity as an experienced tax professional to assist with tax compliance and assurance.
You will work closely with our onshore Sydney teams to ensure our client deliverables are tax compliant. Your focus will be on ensuring that tax compliance requirements are met by undertaking assurance reviews across a range of tax obligations.
You are someone with strong Australian tax compliance expertise, ideally with an Australian tax accounting background and ex Big 4 experience. You will be familiar Australian Tax Office reporting obligations and have a proven ability to deliver change in a fast-paced environment. If you also have strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking abilities, paired with a passion for delivering results, then this role will be a great fit for you.
You will have:
• A tertiary qualification in business, commerce, finance
• A minimum of 8 – 10 years of experience in a chartered, corporate or finance field
• CPA or Chartered Accountant qualified
• Excellent attention to detail and a willingness to work methodically and comprehensively through problems
• A risk management mindset and desire to be involved in new compliance activities
• Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to distil complex technical information into useful business language

You will be directly responsible for the following activities:
• Undertaking detailed assurance reviews for various tax obligations including BAS, individual tax, complex entity structure tax obligation, withholding tax, superannuation income tax, annual income investment reporting and investor tax reporting
• Identifying control gaps and deficiencies in relation to tax processes and recommending improvements
• Assisting in developing and uplifting the tax control framework and assurance program of work
