JOB OVERVIEW

Content Writer

We are a digital marketing agency seeking a social media writer. We are based out of New Orleans, LA, but this person can work from home. We are in need of a content writer who can write conversational, engaging, and relevant social media content for clients in various industries (real estate, insurance, non-profit, business coaching, and bookkeeping).

This will be a part-time role at first, and will eventually move into a full-time role if we are a good fit to work together. All of this work will be done remotely. We will have weekly tea ---------- etings via Zoom, so this person must also be willing to join weekly meetings. As part of the interview process, the candidate must show past social media posts they have written and published online and provide links to actual accounts (Candidates who do not have articles published will not be considered for this position). Also, show results of your content (engagement, follower growth, reviews)

Job Responsibilities:

• Must be able to create social media content that is engaging and relevant to each client

• Match our client's brand voice in social media posts

• Adjust posts according to client feedback

• Perform research on the client's local area (mainly New Orleans, LA or the Durham/Chapel Hill, NC areas) to make posts more relevant and engaging

• Create monthly content calendars for client review

• Coordinate with VA/graphic designer for monthly post writing

• Proofread social media captions before submitting them to the agency head by proactively checking for grammatical and spelling errors according to United States English grammar and spelling standards (we use Grammarly)

• Each month, propose social media topics based on the client’s target market and needs

• Assist with growing client accounts on social media (mainly Instagram and Facebook). Specifically, perform engagement on their accounts


Plagiarism will not be tolerated and will result in the immediate termination of your position. We use software to check all content created before submitting content to our clients.


Skills Needed:

• Detail-oriented (A MUST!) with critical thinking skills in writing for clients

• Trainable and willing to undergo ongoing training

• Communicative (respond to emails and Slack messages in a timely manner) and professional

• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills in US English language

• Experience in social media marketing
