Assistant Video Editor

Our company is looking for an editor to help our team process & post footage for social media. Editors will be assigned a Google drive folder with a weekly batch of clips filled with editing tasks.

These clips are typically for short form content meant for Instagram reels or YouTube shorts. or sometimes long form content for YouTube videos & Podcast style content. We are a real estate team in Olympia Washington so our content has a real estate centric dialogue.

Editing wise, each video will fundamentally be processed the same.

Skills needed:
- Video editing
- Experience with Premier pro
- Experience with YouTube & social media content editing & posting
- Copywriting skills

We’re looking for someone who understands the importance of context. Editors will process clips with a fast paced social media cutting style, by doing tasks like:

- Talking out nonessential off script dialog,
- Trimming breaths & filler words like “um”
- Increasing and decreasing the scale of the clip on specific sentences to make talking points hit harder

Editor must be able to determine these things from context alone. as well as being able to recognize when the dialogue is off script vs on script. A strong understanding of English dialogue is recommended for this position.
