Quantity Surveyor

Overall Purpose of the role:
Using “MYOB EXO” the main purpose of this role is to prepare accurate, detailed lists and Bill of Materials (known as BOM’s) in our system using our standard products and materials for confirmed customer projects. You will also assist the sales team by performing quantity surveying and pricing custom jobs that are different to our usual standard build plans. You will also be responsible for keeping all item pricing in EXO up to date and current, along with the continuous improvement of BOM and Job item quantities.

Skillsets required as below:
• Familiar and competent with computers, mathematics, MS Excel
• Understands the home building / construction industry
• At least 5 years' experience in Quantity Surveying in the Construction industry
• Qualification in Quantity Surveying
• Knowledge of building methods and materials
• The ability to read and interpret building plans
• Skill in estimating building, material, and labour costs
• An understanding of relevant legislation, including the New Zealand Building Code, the New Zealand Building Act 2004 (or able to study and learn this)
• Maths and basic accounting skills
• Some computer-aided design (CAD) skills would be an advantage
