Platform Engineer

Responsibilities

The Platform Engineer is accountable for implementing the strategy and architecture to support a specific technology discipline, Big Data, ensuring that the architecture meets Company business and enterprise technology strategy and architecture requirements. They will be in charge of the following:

Create platform build and deployment strategy
Execute and perform actual platform build and configuration, including integration into other systems
Performs configuration fine-tuning and system regression testing
Perform documentation and configuration management
Monitor stability and perform capacity management

Qualifications

5-8 years’ experience in IT delivery and architecture, of which at least 1-3 years as an implementation lead, and at least 1-3 years of relevant Discipline experience

Proven experience in AWS Cloud specifically in EMR, S3, RDS, OpenSearch Service, EC2, CloudWatch, Terraform, and System Administration.

Ability to upwardly influence the strategic direction of business IT solutions

Ability to benchmark systems, analyze system bottlenecks and propose solutions to eliminate them

Ability to implement and document use cases, solutions and recommendations

Ability to work in environments with competing and alternating priorities and a constant focus on delivery

Proven ability to balance business demands and IT fulfillment in terms of standardization, reducing risk and increasing IT flexibility

Proven ability to relate and adapt vision and strategy to the external environment that affects the organization in terms of economic climate, customer market demand, regulation and other legalities, geography, political, culture, labor, technology.

Successful record building and leading an enterprise data architecture discipline

Expert in data warehousing, database administration, data platform integration

Competent in database management, data flow design, data mapping, data warehousing, and data integration
