General Description:
The Procurement Officer is responsible for maintaining supply inventory levels required for smooth construction operations. Assist in the negotiation of deals with potential vendors and conduct regular price comparisons to ensure that the company is always getting the best price for each product that has been purchased.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Responsible in assisting the Purchasing Manager for site visit, canvass of items, meeting clients, purchase of office supplies and other tasks related to purchasing.
• Compiles information on receipt or disbursement of material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies, and computes inventory balance, price, and cost.
• Prepares reports, such as inventory balance, price lists, and shortages. Prepares list of depleted items and recommends survey of defective or unusable items.
• Assists Purchasing Manager with trucking deliveries.
• Checks the quality and quantity of deliverables; seek and partners with reliable vendors.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and establish long-term purchasing arrangements with vendors when it is beneficial to the company
• Compare product deliveries with issued purchase orders and contact vendors when there are discrepancies.
• Types purchase orders; logs order receipts and confirmations.
• Address and report active purchase errors in a timely manner.
• Responsible for calling suppliers and other clients to follow up ordered materials.
• Maintain records of goods ordered received.
