We are looking to hire a Video Editor to join our team. You need to learn and understand our processes and frameworks completely. Otherwise, a lack of understanding will hinder you from doing an amazing job.
Who you are:
1. Your English proficiency must be good enough (no grammar errors.) - You're going to need it.
2. You have experience already, but if not, as long as you've got skills and can prove it, we'll see.
3. You are a team player - It's easy to say that you are, which is not the same as actually being one.
4. You're reliable - Again, it's easy to say that you are, but we have yet to see solid reliability.
5. You're on top of your communication - This means you're responsive and you don't lose control of your inbox and other channels.
6. You don't need to be chased (
7. You're a delight to work with
8. You're smart, responsible, organized, honest (since the setup is remote), and independent.
9. You're hungry for knowledge - There's a lot of learning to do.
10. You're an active listener - You take time to understand what you are being told, and you act accordingly.
Who we are:
We are a successful digital marketing agency, and we're constantly growing. Google my name and the company.
What you will do:
Creating graphics, diagrams, etc.
Create presentations
Skinning documents (will be explained to you)
and
turn long-form videos into shorter videos and articles competently. To do this well, you need to understand our process so you will have to go through our training.
These repurposed videos aren't just videos. There should be a logical structure. It should tell a story.
You can use the tools you already have on your computer (ex. Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Descript etc.), but most of the time, Canva will do.
You won't have to create graphics all the time. In fact, we seldom create graphics. Most of the time, you will be asked to skin documents. However, the most important thing is that you understand things such as our 9 Triangles Framework, The Content Factory, etc.
You don't have to be super skilled, but you need to be reliable. Know your responsibilities and do your job well consistently. Reliability has always been a problem, so if you can show that you're someone we can depend on, you'll have a long-term job after this.
Do not just send me your resume, ask to book a call, or send a canned note. Instead, show you clearly understand my specific requirements. Tell me that you understand what we do and what we're about. If you have an example to show, make sure it's relevant-- don't send me a giant list of articles and videos.
We get a lot of applications, but most of them are coming to us without demonstrating that they understood our specific requirements, so their proposals get ignored. Please don't make the same mistake.
And to show that you're taking this seriously, let the first line of your message be "I'm a GREAT Graphics and Video Editor"
also, please study this link -
then send us a One Minute Video, talking about yourself, including your experience demonstrating your reliability.
To demonstrate that you are truly interested, please use at least 5 Apply Points for your application.
++ include HEDGEHOG in your subject line plus your passion.
