Product Development Officer

Summary: Overall in charge with the product development activities from inquiry handling, sample fabrication and approval to distribution of development report to concerned sections and personnel for mass production.

1. Receives IF (inquiry form) from sales together with layout, drawing or actual product sample.
2. Produce mechanical layout of the item and endorse IF and BOM (bill of materials) to Eng’g Head for checking.
3. Coordinates the dev’t plan to purchasing for material/service, production planner for schedule of sample fabrication, warehouse for material availability, production for sample fabrication and QC for quality planning and actual verification of sample vs. requirements.
4. Monitors the sample fabrication activities and ensures that necessary documents and records are available and satisfy the requirement before sample endorsement to sales.
5. Ensures that development activities are well planned and coordinated based on APQP (Advance Product Quality Planning).
6. Receives product approval from customer through sales and make PDAR (product development and accomplishment report).
7. Provides and distribute copy of PDAR to concerned areas: Planning (production & material requirements), production (process requirements and control), warehouse (material details and space requirements including FG), QC (quality requirements) and purchasing (supplier accreditation) the sourcing of material during development stage.
