FatSecret is a leader in the digital diet and nutrition space. Our app has enjoyed over 50 million installs and together with our platform, drives some of the biggest nutrition and health platforms in the world.

We are embarking on an ambitious journey to extend our app to provide rich personalised experiences and help users manage their diet and weight through good nutrition.

To help us get there, we are seeking an experienced Android developer with a proven track record developing Apps from the ground up.

Responsibilities:
· Responsible for maintaining and developing new features based on product requirements
· Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of the app
· Design and build advanced applications for the Android platform
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
· Work with outside data sources and APIs
· Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability
· Work on bug fixing and improving application performance
· Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximise development efficiency


Requirements:
· 3 years of Android development experience
· BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
· Solid knowledge of Java, Kotlin, networking, caching and concurrency
· Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices
· Proven working experience in Android app development having published at least one app
· Experience with Android SDK, different versions of Android
· Experience working with remote data via REST and JSON
· Experience with third-party libraries and APIs
· Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies
· Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle.
