A Shopify Designer / Developer (1 month contract)

We're looking for an experienced Shopify designer / developer to assist in a new project that is about to start. This will be a full time job for 1 month (40 hours per week), with the potential for there to be part time work (20 hours per week) for 2 months after that. During the first month this website will be the only project that we'd like you to work on in this time.

Salary and time:
Month 1: Full time (40 hours per week): USD $1137
Month 2: Part time (20 hours per week): USD $568.50 (potential)
Month 3: Part time (20 hours per week): USD $568.50 (potential)

This is an ecommerce project for a large sports/nutrition brand. We need to redesign the:
• Homepage
• About page
• Collections
• Product page template (there are approximately 140 products)
• Blog pages
• Cart and Checkout
• Articles
• Contact

We need the new design to be built off-site, then imported and fully tested on a staging site before being pushed live. We have some technical SEO considerations that need to be addressed, tested and fully configured before going live so we will be working very closely with you to ensure the smooth transition of this process. We will provide the majority of the design layouts, which we will design on Wordpress, for approval with the clients first and foremost.

The successful candidate must have great English skills and be happy to work during UK hours for important tasks, although most of the work can be done in Filipino working hours. We would like regular Zoom calls to discuss the project progress and technical aspects.

Some features that we'd like to add to the site are:
• A floating add to cart button
• A custom designed header and footer
• A pop-out checkout, the comes from the right hand side
• Implementation of a protein calculator

If it's easier, we're happy to consider Apps for these tasks, as long as they don't affect site performance.

We'd also like some basic training on how to change homepage banner images etc. as the client would like to do this themselves once the site is complete.

Must haves:
• Extensive experience working on custom built Shopify stores
• A portfolio of Shopify projects to send us
• Be able to work in UK hours, as well as Philippine hours, depending on the requirements
• Be available to work 8 hours per day, 5 days per week for 1 month
• Have great English skills and be happy to work together on Zoom sometimes
• Have experience building custom themes, testing them on a staging site and pushing them live
• Have technical experience working on Shopify technical optimisations for SEO (tasks include improving site speed, lazy loading, reducing LCP etc.)
