----------

Urban Ambiance is an online decorative lighting brand and retailer, founded in 2017. Over the last 5 years we've grown from a small startup to a mid-sized lighting brand, and a lot of this success has been driven by our best-in-class product content. Images play a crucial role in our content recipe, including product closeups and setting shots for every product (product shown installed in a room setting). As we look ahead to 2023 and beyond, we have an ambitious product rollout schedule, including category expansions. A full-time image editor is therefore an important hire for our business, and we encourage you to apply.

The primary responsibility of this role will involve Photoshop image editing, including: background removal, image touchups, image discovery (stock images), and layout / creation. A strong understanding of Adobe Photoshop is required. Other software experience, including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and eCommerce platforms is helpful. Following a probationary first month at $350-$500, pay would be $700-$1000 a month depending on experience and performance. These would be paid at hourly rates.

The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys Photoshop work, and in particular, enjoys making images "look better". We are prepared to train you for a variety of different computer and software skills, however having an eye for image editing and in particular, for noticing when something isn't looking right, is not something that can be trained - a person either has that "eye", or they don't. As such, along with this application, advancing applicants will be asked to complete a short background-removal test. Following this, advancing applicants will be asked to complete a short written test. And finally, those whom advance from the two short tests will be asked to complete a paid (1 hour) image editing test.
