Managed Services firm seeks Systems Administrator to provide support to nonprofit and construction clients in NY and DC metro areas. This organization is well-known, growing and looking to provide its employees with the opportunity to grow internally with new roles and responsibilities. This role is 100% remote and requires strong written and verbal communication skills for US-based clients.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Your role is two-fold: managing your own Tier 3 workload and co-managing the US-based team that provides day-to-day technology and support needs to client networks. You will report directly to the Director of Information Systems.
- Act as an escalation point for systems, platforms and applications
- Complete cloud migrations and monitor and manage client networks
- Manage client security needs and lead disaster recovery or security i
- Manage the workloads and priorities of Tech Support Team, including monitoring all requests, ensuring team achieves goals within specified time frames and directly managing Tier 1/2 engineers and evaluating each engineer's performance
- Manage client expectations and lead client-facing meetings to advise clients, including following up with users to ensure full resolution of issues and managing business relationships
- Manage computer and AV hardware budget and inventory (including assets assigned to individual end users)
- Develop best practices for new and existing hardware and software technology releases
- Create FAQs and training materials to educate users on best practices
- Review daily metrics for problem and i
- Stay apprised of new technologies and trends in the technology industry to better support clients, to provide a more comprehensive technology-related service to staff and clients.
- Research complex technical issues and provide an action plan
- Utilize existing IT management systems to maximize the delivery & efficiency of services
- Implement and audit IT and Physical Security controls
- Provide product recommendations as needed
JOB REQUIREMENTS
3-5 years Systems Admin experience
3-5 years experience in Office 365, including front end, back end, migrations and administration
3-5 years experience managing Help Desk engineers
Strong hands-on experience with SharePoint and Azure
Automation and scripting (PowerShell, VB, BASH, etc.)
Core infrastructure services (DNS, DHCP SMTP, etc.)
Windows Server
Patch management
Preferred: Prior experience working at MSP (Managed Service Provider), MCSE, CISSP, Bachelor's Degree
