We're looking to add a talented and motivated professional as Online Business Manager (OBM) and lead our virtual team and accelerate business growth. You will bring passion, a drive for excellence, and foster teamwork. Ideally, you have some experience with maintenance & reliability in asset-intensive industries like Oil & Gas or Mining. Experience as a consultant and/or an MBA will be looked on favorably. Alternatively, if you have a strong background as an Online Business Manager in other niches and are open to learning more about our niche please do consider applying too.
You will start as Online Business Manager focussed on standardising operations, driving efficiency, and improving marketing and sales. Over time we expect you to grow into the role of General Manager (GM) and take P&L responsibility.
Although this job is posted as being based in Philippines, you will work remotely and can be based anywhere in the world. As a smaller business, we deliberately hire talent from different regions of the world to keep costs down, create diversity, and build a multi-lingual team.

Through the Road to Reliability™ Academy we deliver online training and coaching in industrial maintenance and plant reliability. Our customers are in all parts of the world, from individuals to large multinational companies. We have big plans and are working to deliver our online training in 8-10 different languages to better service our customers.

The company is growing with a small team of full-time and part-time contractors working across the Asia-Pacific region, currently all reporting to the Managing Director based in Brisbane, Australia. We will deliberately hire talent in different regions of the world to keep costs down, create diversity, and build a multi-lingual team.
Role Purpose
The new role will over time take over the day-to-day operation of the business, freeing up the Managing Director to work on more strategic initiatives including partnerships and new product development.
The role will oversee marketing, operations, web development, and business services like accounting with the full virtual team (full-time and part-time roles) reporting to this role.
Responsibilities
- Work with the Managing Director to restructure the existing team and take over the day-to-day operation of the business within 3-6 months
- Work closely with the Managing Director to maintain the long-term business plans and convert those into actionable milestone plans (12 months and 90 days). Execute 90-day sprints with the team.
- Manage day-to-day operations including proposals to clients, client onboarding, invoicing, online marketing including social media (LinkedIn), SEO and development of marketing assets
- Manage improvement projects to completion on time and on-budget e.g. the development of the Road to Reliability Mobile App, the translation of existing training courses, improvements to the website and the Academy learning management system
- Ensure key performance indicators are tracked, analysed, understood, and improvement actions identified and progressed
- Drive the systemisation of the business such that all key processes are documented in repeatable, easy-to-understand SOPs

Your Skills & Experience
- You have an Engineering or Business degree and ideally have worked in asset-intensive industries like Oil & Gas or Mining. An MBA would be considered favorable.
- You must understand the basics of reliability, maintenance, asset integrity, and asset management as well as experience with simple business economics. You have hands-on experience working with major CMMS/ERP solutions like SAP or Maximo.
Ideally, you have experience in a business / consulting role so you understand business development and are experienced in presenting, pitching, and putting proposals together.
- You are fluent in English and especially your written English is clear, concise, and accurate. If you speak one of our target market languages (e.g. French, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Russian) that would be a bonus.
- You have an understanding of marketing, sales, and business development, and if not, you are willing to put in the time and effort to learn.
- You have experience with managing websites or are tech-savvy enough to learn quickly. You have strong IT skills and a proven track of being a fast learner.

What’s on Offer
- This will be a remote role allowing you to work from home. You will, however, be required to work the majority of your time during Australian business hours i.e. your workday should have at least 4 hours between 7 am to 7 pm GMT+10 to ensure overlap with the MD and the rest of the team.
- The role is full-time (40 hours per week) and to help with a transition from an existing role, we can look at starting part-time (50%) for the first 1-2 months. There will be a 3-month probation period.
- Base pay will be between USD 1,600 and USD 2,000 per month depending on experience, with a 13th-month pay in December, up to 3 months cash bonus subject to company performance, 20 days leave, and an annual allowance of USD 1,000 towards Private Health Insurance.
