We are looking for a Data Scientist who will play the lead role on strategic projects for the company. Your role will include collecting data, analyzing information, developing ideas, and testing them out before eventually scaling them across all our company and nursing home partners. You will have great visibility to senior leadership, including the COO and CEO.
While we've historically kept our team small, we simply can't ignore the opportunity ahead of us now. This is one of the most important roles we'll ever hire and will be responsible for executing ambitious goals with significant autonomy and support.
Job Summary:
This Data Scientist role will primarily work on managing our various databases and end-to-end data projects. This will include working with various stakeholders, writing SQL code, data manipulation using Python, and communicating progress in a clear and concise
The position also requires some project management skills, effective data storytelling when delivering reports, and can promote a data-driven culture within the organization.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with a Director of Operations, leading projects with significant autonomy.
Work with various stakeholders across operations, business development, finance, IT, and HR.
Perform analysis on large amounts of complex data to provide the business with fact-based insights and recommendations.
Offer internal process and user/customer perspective of simplicity, efficiency, and effectiveness into design and analysis.
Support departmental reporting, metrics, budgets, dashboards, and analytics.
Make recommendations and present alternatives to address business needs or resolve
Quarterly bonus analysis, HIPPS simple LTC/ QCR analysis, and other miscellaneous analysis.
Ad hoc improvements & maintenance, updating preset
Creating and managing new dashboards and functionality
Calculating profitability of different verticals.
Upleveling automation (e.g. automating
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or any related discipline. Post-graduate degree in Data Science or equivalent is a plus.
The Data Scientist position requires 3-5 years of relevant experience.
Strong analysis, decision-making, and problem-solving skills with excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
Must be very comfortable in using Python, SQL, and other data tools.
Knows their way around large datasets, databases, data warehouses, ETL, dashboards, and other BI tools.
We prefer candidates with experience using Tableau and Apache Superset/Preset.
Experience with using BigQuery is a plus.
Has some experience in creating small-scale automation.
Ability to work as part of a team and interact effectively with others.
Proficient in standard office software (MS Excel, Word, Powerpoint, or their Google Suite equivalent).

Environmental/Working Conditions:
This position is fully-remote. Must be comfortable working in CST. Occasional extra hours or weekend work may be needed during extremely busy periods.
