Industrial Product Designer For Soft Goods Company

Note: This is NOT for general graphic designers- we are looking for design architects/ industrial designers/ fashion/ product designers to help design our products with exact measurements. If you don't have that specific experience please don't apply.

This is a part-time job starting at roughly 10 hours per week helping design physical products to give to our ---------- the future, there may be an ability to increase working hours from good work. There are no set hours required to be working, but there might be up to 3 meetings per week at first.

Job overview:
- Transforms a product sketch from a paper and turn it into an illustrated technical design using Adobe Illustrator or similar software and have accurate scale with measurements.
- Uses software to create technical drawings or illustrations to be used by our manufacturers for our soft good products. (bags, pouches…)
- Understand deeply the product’s design and functionality.
- Improve existing product designs and analyze working concepts launched by competitors of similar products to match quality and performance
- Works directly with the CEO in finishing and updating the product design.
- Must be able to make the proposed product design into 2D or maybe 3D with accurate dimensions and measurements.
- Knows basic project management skills to organize tasks and meet deadlines.




Experience:
- At least 3 to 5 years of experience in designing soft good products such as but not limited to backpacks, bags, and belts or similar items.
- Must be highly proficient (5 star skill level) in using Adobe Illustrator and other software that can be used to create 2D or 3D product designs.
- Not required but nice to have if you have a personal interest and experience in basic carpentry and tools.
- Knows how to use modern-day digital tools such as Slack, Airtable, and Google Suite apps.
