Directions
What follows is a partial list of potential tasks that you will receive on an as-needed basis:

Note: When sourcing quotes, source a minimum of three quotes. Always ask questions if a task is vague or unclear.
Low or non-stocked Components/Devices
For difficult-to-find components, you will be emailed a description of a component and the quantity needed. These components may show little to no stock with major distributors. They may also be obsolete or have a long lead ---------- this situation, we will need a list of suppliers that have stock. You will be responsible for sourcing these components through “Grey Market” channels. You will need to provide details in a spreadsheet detailing the following: Supplier, location of stock, amount of stock, volume pricing, and lead times. Other details may be helpful and should be included at the discretion of the procurement specialist. E.g. you may want to include a rating (if available) of the supplier.

Custom Parts
You will be emailed a drawing with a custom part. An example is a metal battery clip or pin. You will be responsible for providing this drawing along with quantity information to manufacturers. You will create a list of manufacturers and include volume pricing information, lead times, contact name, manufacturer address, etc., You will shortlist these manufacturers, and we will d ---------- which one(s) will receive our business by having a zoo ---------- eting and discussing the quotes. After the order is placed, you will work with the selected manufacturer(s) to make this part to our specifications and ensure it is delivered according to pre-established agreements.

Equipment (tools) Research
You will receive detailed requirements for equipment research. An example may be an industrial oven or a 3D printer. You will be required to research potential equipment that satisfies our requirements. You will need to create a spreadsheet listing manufacturers, equipment, pricing, lead times, shipping costs, links to products and ---------- t all equipment are identical. If a machine consumes material, you will need to include these consumables along with pricing per unit volume. Moreover, your opinions will be valued as you will be the first line of contact between our company and the equipment manufacturer. You will shortlist your manufacturers, and we will have a discussion over Zoom on which one to purchase from.

New Components/ICs
Similar to the equipment task above, you will receive detailed specifications for a new component or IC. You are to create a report listing potential candidates, volume pricing, manufacturer, specifications, distributor and current stock available. Links to datasheets and any other pertinent information will also be required. Here is an example:
Locate a 5 Volt voltage regulator in a surface mount package.
Specification:
Output range: 5V DC
Input Range: 5.2V DC to 9.5VDC
Package: Surface Mount SOIC or SOT
Cost: < $3.2 in quantities of 1000 pieces or less.
Current Output: 100mA

BOM Analysis
You will receive a bill of material (BOM) and will need to upload it to several distributor websites. You will receive reports from each distributor and compile the information. Pertinent information will be the availability of parts (available stock), lead times, volume pricing, status (active, obsolete, on order etc,.). For parts with no lead times, or little to no stock, you will need to source them. (refer to “Low or non-stocked Components/Devices” above).

Other Tasks and Duties
The above directions will most likely pertain to the majority of your tasks. However, there will be the occasional task that does not fit the above directions perfectly. Flexibility will be required for you to adapt and continue to assist us with our procurement needs. The supply chain worldwide is more dynamic than it ever has ---------- summary, we appreciate your assistance and look forward to working closely with you.
