JOB OVERVIEW

The application developer will help document firm processes, study how the team uses software to complete their work, and write automation to make our firm more effective. We’re looking for someone to work with us long-term and grow with us as our business grows. This isn’t a SaaS, this is an established and growing law firm looking for an application developer to continually automate and improve our systems.

The job will start at 20/hours per week, and the first task will be reviewing and documenting what’s already been built. Next, we can start building on top of that. We use a litany of software that’s always changing itself, so we’ll also need you to help us update our own processes as those change.

We recognize 13th month.

We currently work with the following software, so the more of these you know, the better.

Google Apps Script / G Suite / JavaScript. Our base system for calendaring and file storage.

Google Data Studio. Our data is gathered here and presented on dashboards.

Zapier. We have over 40 zaps running close to 15,000 tasks / mo. Some of our Zaps are 30+ steps.

Confluence / Jira. We document our systems, and keep track of your work.

Accelo. Client, project, and billing management.

AcuityScheduilng. Appointment setting.

ActiveCampaign. Email marketing.

Lawpay. Payment processing.

Xero. Bookkeeping and Accounting.

RingCentral. Phone and communications.

Wordpress. Website.

Our core values are the key principles that shape our company’s culture, defines how we engage with each other and our clients, how we deliver value, and how we behave. They’re a compass for our decision-making. They connect us to each other and make our successes possible. Each of us is accountable to align our conduct with our core ---------- today's business climate, customers are won and lost over these ideals.

?? Communicate Effectively. With clients, each other, and everyone else.

This is evidenced in our regular coaching meetings, our discussions with clients, and the other members of our team. This means we over-communicate with clients (always in writing), take detailed notes so we can enjoy vacations, be honest with each other, and ensure that our clients are not regularly asking for updates.

This also relates to how we advise clients: Often times, we have to tell clients what they need to hear, not what they want to hear.

???? Consider the Small Things. We’re worried about the big things, but our clients pay close attention to the small things.

Our clients expect us to do what we say we’re going to do, including calling them on time, billing them when we say we will, and ensuring that we follow the expectations we’ve set for them.

???? Geek Out. Be tech proficient so that we can manage the chaos and make our lives easier.

If it’s not making our lives easier, we need to fix that. When there’s an issue that is repetitive and consistent, how do we automate it?

????? Live your Best Life. We want the firm to ultimately benefit the people who work here, so that they can have a healthy work-life balance. Healthier & happier employees ultimately means better client service and happier clients.

Burnout is a common problem in the legal industry, and we want to prevent that.

This means that when we’re on vacation, we’re on vacation. If we need to take time off during the day, we can. But, we need to ensure that while we're working, we’re doing what’s necessary to enable someone else to help us out while we’re gone.
