Hello freelancers ????
I'm the CEO of a digital studio and I'm starting a new product-focused business. At the same time I'm ramping up my activity in training and consulting. Needless to say... there's a lot going on.
I'm looking for an energetic, passionate and curious person to join me and work closely with me on executing the work that needs to be done across all of these fronts. Please read carefully below all points and apply if this is a good fit.
This is *not* a position designed for a "senior person" — I'm looking for someone that is eager to learn, is energetic and has the right attitude. I'll adjust your payment/rate frequently as I see more progress and the kind of value you can add.
This won't be a playbook-job. You'll do different stuff everyday, you'll have problems to figure out and it will require your best effort. At the same time you'll be up and close with operating an established business as well as starting new ones from scratch and will get tons of learning.
A couple things you must possess:
1. A lot of willingness to learn. Learning is a big part of your "compensation" — I'll teach you everything I wish I knew 5/10 years ago and you'll learn a lot just by doing tasks you never did before. But you need to be ready for it.
2. You're curious. This is 100% important for me. You're not someone that is content with just doing something. You ask why and investigate, research and are always looking to know more and understand the things around you.
3. This is a position i see taking maybe 30h a week. So it's ideal if you want to mix it with family time, other activities (studies etc). You must, however, not work in a company that is in any way a competitor to us.
4. You have familiarity with online businesses. You understand just a little bit about technology and what a startup is and are looking to dive deeper.
5. You're capable of finding your way around the Google Suite of products as well as some newer tools like Slack.
6. Your english (spoken and written) is spotless! (super important)
What you'll be doing:
1. Responding to
2. Helping hire, filter, communicate and eventually send offers to candidates.
3. Research contacts and
4. Joining calls to take notes or provide input on topics you're working on,
5. Maintaining
6. Having content I write be proofread by third parties before being published.
7. Help run (communications, setting up invites, maintaining website content) my upcoming cohort courses.
8. Do basic accounting and bookkeeping tasks ensuring everything is spotless.
9. Assist in investor outreach and follow-up.
10. Provide customer support (just like me!) over
You'll be taught everything you need to learn at least once. However, my expectation is that you ask questions and then get it done. I do NOT expect to repeat the same thing multiple times. Mistakes are fine. As long as they don't repeat constantly.
You'll PROACTIVELY find stuff to do after your initial onboarding and not "just wait for work to fall on your lap".
Please
1. *Mandatory* Please record a short clip (1-2min) where you present yourself and why this job is a good fit for you? Ideally video (we're humans — we communicate visually!) but audio is also fine. Make sure I can access the shared clip. I suggest loom.
2. *Mandatory* Write three bullet points on why you'd be a good fit to help me.
3.*Mandatory* What is the biggest hurdle/struggle/obstacle you ever faced and how did you manage to overcome it? Bonus points if it's a professional story, but can also be personal.
4. *Mandatory* Are you ok with this position being ~30h/week? When could you start if we chose to work together?
